St Peters Station Train Station in Sydney, NSW: A Comprehensive Guide

St Peters train station is located in the inner west of Sydney, New South Wales. It is on the Illawarra line of the Sydney Trains network and is approximately 7 kilometers south-west of the Sydney central business district. The station serves the suburb of St Peters and the surrounding areas, including Newtown, Erskineville, and Alexandria.

The station is also close to major roads including Princes Hwy and King St, making it easily accessible by car or bike.

The Grounds of Alexandria is a destination in itself, and consists of The Grounds of Alexandria cafe, the Potting Shed, the Garden area, in addition to the cool spaces you can walk through and enjoy. It’s about a 20 minute walk from St Peters station or you can catch the 348 bus from St Peters station and disembark at the Bourke Rd and Huntley St bus stop and the venue is directly across the road.

The station’s restroom is currently unavailable while the station upgrade works is in progress.

St Peters Station Upgrade

The NSW government is currently upgrading St Peters station to improve accessiblity for people with a disability, limited mobility, parents and carers with prams, the elderly, and people travelling with luggage. 

The upgrade will include two new lifts, a family-accessible toilet, new bicycle hoops new and upgraded tactiles on the platforms to help visually impaired customers, new kiss and ride spaces, new overhead coverings for improved weather protection, as well as improved CCTV monitoring, lighting and signage.
