Best Sydney Dining Deals

Sydney is known for its vibrant and multicultural dining scene. There’s a huge range of great dining options from three-hatted fine dining restaurants to your local favourite pub, ramen, dumplings, and pizza joint.

I love catching up with friends and family over a meal at a new restaurant I haven’t tried before, or just going to my local faves. It’d be even better if you could dine at a discount, so you can dine out even more often!

Now you can! Here are a few of my go-to sites/apps I regularly use to find great restaurants and more casual dining options with discount offers.

First Table

First Table offers a 50% discount off the food bill only (drinks are charged at full price) for two to four people. Some of the Sydney restaurants with deals available at the time of publishing include Public Dining Room in Mosman, Olio Kensington Street in Chippendale, and Meat District Co in Darling Harbour.

The idea is that you book the first (or last) table for the brekkie, lunch or dinner service for that restaurant (when the restaurant isn’t in full-swing and too busy).

The booking fee is usually $10 or $12. Some restaurants have Special Conditions such as each diner has to order a beverage, or certain items from the menu are not available for the 50% discount offer.

I’ve booked and tried a few restaurants (including Civico47 — great Italian food, Firegrill– delicious steak, seafood, and The Dining Room by James Viles at the Park Hyatt Sydney), from First Table already. I’ve found the booking process to be easy and seamless. The food and service at the restaurants has also been excellent.

I’m slowly making my way through the list to see where I want to try next.

EatClub

EatClub offers up to a 50% discount on the total bill. Some of the restaurants available atm include Fratelli Fresh in Darling Harbour, Flying Fajita Sistas in Glebe, and New Shanghai in Westfield Sydney.

You select your restaurant and then click on the ‘Redeem’ button. The Redeem button is available for the current day. Otherwise, you can click on the ‘Notify Me’ button for another day’s offer.

So this is a good app for when you’re being spontaneous or haven’t had a chance to think about what to eat yet, and then you start scrolling for ideas then something takes your fancy and you click the ‘Redeem’ button and then off you go to grab a bite to eat.

Note: to get the discount applied to your bill, you:
1. Download the EatClub app then follow the prompts to link up your credit card to the EatClub digital card
2. Redeem an offer
3. Tap your EatClub digital card when you’re at the venue and ready to pay the bill. EatClub will automatically apply the discount to your bill, so you’ll only be paying the bill minus the discount applied

I found that once I set up the EatClub app and digital card, it was easy to use. There’s also no need to tell the venue that you redeemed a discount voucher, as it will automatically be applied when you pay. So that’s pretty cool!

Eat Drink Cheap

Eat Drink Cheap is a great website to find great pub specials and deals. The venue or the public can submit a ‘Special’ to the site. It says there are 1,000 weekly specials and cheap eats in Sydney listed.

You can find “The best happy hour drinks, steak night, cocktails, Parmi & more from the CBD to Bondi Beach, Manly to North Sydney and the outer suburbs.”

I like how this site compiles all this info in one place for you to search by day, suburb, and type of deal.

Other Sydney Food and Dining Discount Sites

NRMA— Members of NRMA can get up 25% discount off their bill or get a 2 for 1 offer.

Groupon— You can buy a voucher for a dining deal and get up to around 50% off.

Enjoy dining out for less at many great restaurants around Sydney!
